Toledo police have charged a 34-year-old man with murder in connection with a body being found run over by a train Friday night.

According to police, Lecorius J. “Corey” Reynolds of 129 Dale St. beat 51-year-old Roy H. Roberts of the same address earlier in the day and left him on the tracks.

The body of the man, who was naked, was found on the Norfolk Southern tracks at Air Line Avenue and Gibbons Street about 9 p.m. after the railroad company notified police.

Police Sgt. Tim Noble said authorities believe Mr. Reynolds beat Mr. Roberts at 129 Dale, waited an undetermined amount of time, then moved his body to the tracks about 500 feet from 129 Dale and fled.

Sergeant Noble said Mr. Roberts might have been dead by the time he was struck by the train.

He said Mr. Reynolds was booked into the Lucas County jail and is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
