MILAN, Mich. — A Romulus, Mich., man was shot and killed and two people were wounded Sunday during an altercation that turned deadly when two of the people grabbed their guns in a home in the 1400 block of Rawsonville Road in London Township, Monroe County sheriff’s deputies said.

The name of the 32-year-old dead man was not released.

Injured in the incident, reported at 3:30 a.m., were a 38-year-old woman from Brownstown Township and a 35-year-old man from Taylor, Mich. Deputies said neither injury was life-threatening.

Deputies said the shooting stemmed from a fight between the Romulus man and the Taylor man, which several other people tried to break up.

When the fight escalated, the unnamed 39-year-old homeowner, got his handgun and fired three warning shots in the ground, investigators said.

The Romulus man got his gun from his vehicle and fired at the Taylor man, hitting him in the chest.

The homeowner then shot the Romulus man once in the upper chest, killing him, deputies said.

The woman was struck in the hand.

An autopsy was scheduled for today. The name of the deceased was being withheld until his family was notified.
