Bond for the man accused of stabbing to death a 72-year-old woman was set at $1 million today during a video arraignment in Sylvania Municipal Court.

Adam Akers, 41, is charged with one count of murder for the death of Judith Uyttenhove, who was found dead of multiple stab wounds inside a mobile home that the two shared at Royal Village mobile home park in Springfield Township. Mr. Akers is the son of Ms. Uyttenhove's roomate, officials said.

Mr. Akers is scheduled for another court appearance, via video, on Monday. He remains in the Lucas County jail.

Ms. Uyttenhove was pronounced dead at her mobile home in the 7500 block of Dorr Street. The victim was stabbed 13 times with a kitchen knife, said Dr. Diane Scala-Barnett, a Lucas County deputy coroner who performed the autopsy on Thursday.

Dr. Scala-Barnett said Ms. Uyttenhove had one defensive wound, a cut on an arm like she tried to block an attack. The fatal stab wounds were concentrated in the chest area, Dr. Scala-Barnett said.
