A daytime shooting of a 17-year-old in east Toledo remained under investigation Wednesday, authorities said.

The victim, who lives on Birmingham Terrace, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said. His name and condition were not released.

Police responding to a report of a person shot at 1501 Navarre Ave. arrived about 5 p.m. Tuesday and found the victim on the back porch with a gunshot wound to his left soldier, according to an unusual incident report released by police Wednesday.

The victim told police he was sitting on the porch when he was shot and that he did not see or hear anyone, according to the report.

There was no word of arrests.
