Two Airport Hwy. convenience stores robbed

Two Airport Highway carryout stores were robbed over the weekend, police said.

The first was reported Friday night at Airport Stop Carryout, 3326 Airport Highway, at 10:14. Police said two men with T-shirts over their heads went into the store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. One suspect stayed in front of the counter while the second jumped over, pointing his gun at the clerk while they waited for the cash. Money in hand, the suspects fled on foot.

At 9:52 p.m. Sunday, Cigarette Outlet, 2620 Airport Highway, was robbed by two armed, masked men, police said. They took money and fled from the store; additional details were not immediately available.

Suspect descriptions were not available.
