Taylor, Mich., man dies from injuries he suffered in collision while riding motorcycle

MONROE -- A Taylor, Mich., man has died from the injuries suffered over the weekend when a motorcycle he was driving and a sports car collided in Frenchtown Township, authorities said.

Lynn Skeans, 69, was pronounced dead at 7:03 p.m. Thursday at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, according to the Lucas County Coroner‘‍s Office. Preliminary autopsy results indicate he died of of blunt-force injury to the head and neck consistent with the traffic crash, Dr. Maneesha Pandey, a deputy coroner, who performed the autopsy on the man today, said.

The crash occurred about 10:55 a.m. Saturday on North Dixie Highway at Monrona Drive, Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone wrote in a prepared statement. A Chevrolet Corvette driven by Dakota Frazier, 21, of Monroe was turning from southbound North Dixie east onto Monrona Drive when it drove into the path of the BMW motorcycle, which was northbound on Dixie, according to the statement.

Mr. Frazier was not injured and was arrested at the scene, according to the sheriff‘‍s office, which released no information about the charges.

The crash remains under investigation, according to the statement.
