INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police say a man suspected of shooting at two officers responding to a report of a suspicious person opening doors of vehicles in an apartment complex parking lot has been arrested.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Rafael Diaz Jr. says 21-year-old Jordan Anderson of Indianapolis is being held on preliminary charges of attempted murder and pointing a firearm. He says the Marion County prosecutor’s office will make the final decision on charges.

It wasn’t immediately known if Anderson has an attorney.

Diaz says a gunman fired at two officers investigating reports of someone opening vehicle doors at an apartment complex about 4:30 a.m. Saturday. The officers were not injured. Police say the suspect escaped by running through some buildings at the complex.
