Two traffic crashes have claimed lives in Monroe and Findlay.
A Monroe woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Stewart Road about 5 p.m. Monday, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said.
Rita M. Evans, 84, was pulling out of a Kmart parking lot onto Stewart Road when she failed to yield to an sport utility vehicle driven by John W. Fox, 49, of Port Huron, Mich., police said.
Ms. Evans was transported to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, where she later died, police said. Mr. Fox and his passenger, Justin L. Fox, 27, of Ottawa Lake, Mich., also suffered minor injuries and were taken to Mercy Memorial Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
A Findlay man died Monday from injuries suffered in a one-car crash Saturday.
Findlay police said Kraig D. Niswander, 47, was driving north on Meadowview Drive at 12:39 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle left the road, striking a mailbox and a tree.
Mr. Niswander was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, where he died Monday. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
