Authorities are investigating a man‘‍s body found today in a second-floor room at a Northwood motel. Police identified the man as Johnny Ray Willett Jr., 48.

Officers were serving a drug warrant at the America’‍s Best Value Inn on Oregon Road when a maid came downstairs at 11:22 a.m. and told the officers there was a dead man in the upstairs room.

Police would not comment on whether there were any obvious signs of trauma on the body, which was being transferred to the Lucas County Coroner’‍s Office for an autopsy.

The body was found alone; officers said the man checked in Thursday evening.

The drug bust was unrelated to the body. Officers found a small amount of cocaine and $1,500 in cash, and arrested two people in that matter.
