Toledo man allegedly set 2 fires inside residence on June 27

A Toledo man who allegedly sought attention by setting a house on fire was arraigned today.

Steven Harman, 62, of 517 Hiett Ave., is charged with one count of arson for allegedly setting two fires inside the residence where he was living on June 27, according to an affidavit filed in Toledo Municipal Court. His bond was set at $5,000 and he remains in the Lucas County jail.

Officials said Mr. Harman suffered first and second-degree burns to his face, hands, and head by not escaping the burning home fast enough. No other injuries were reported.

The single-story home, valued at $14,000, was built in 1907 and is owned by James Petot of Toledo, according to the Lucas County Auditor‘s Web site.‍
