Sex video claim is investigated
7/11/2014MONROE — An incident in which a 43-year-old Monroe Township man was accused of using his cell phone to display a sex video to a 16-year-old girl was under investigation Thursday, authorities said.
The man, whose name was being withheld pending arraignment at Monroe District Court, was charged with presentation of obscene material to a minor, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff deputies said they received the report of the alleged incident about 4:15 p.m. Sunday.
The suspect was accused of showing the girl a sex video on his cell phone, claiming it featured himself, and offering himself to her “in a sexual manner,” according to a statement released by the sheriff’s office. After the girl refused, the suspect walked away.
The incident in the 15000 block of South Telegraph Road in Monroe Township was captured on video surveillance, deputies said in the report.
