Robbery reported at West Toledo convenience store

A West Toledo convenience store was robbed Saturday night, police said.

An armed man went into Barney‘s convenience store, 1702 W. Laskey Rd., at 11:39 p.m. and asked the clerk for cigarettes. When the clerk turned back toward the suspect, he showed that he had a gun in his hand and demanded cash from the clerk. The employee put cash into a plastic bag and handed it to the suspect.

The suspect was described in a police report as a light-skinned black man in his 30s, about 6 feet tall, and was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, burgundy sweatpants, and a blue baseball hat. Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
