JACKSON, Mich. — Authorities are investigating a “person of interest” in connection with a homicide in Lenawee County’s Woodstock Township.‍

Larry Smith, 66, resided at the 11818 Silver Lake Hwy. residence where his body was found Sunday, according to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies said they were called there at 7:34 p.m. Sunday for a “welfare complaint.” When they arrived, they found Mr. Smith.

No arrests have been made, but deputies said they believe the death was not a random incident, and that Mr. Smith knew the perpetrator.

An autopsy is being scheduled.

The Michigan State Police crime lab was called to help investigate. No charges have been filed.
