Boy injured in Hancock County crash
7/22/2014NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio — A 4-year-old boy is in critical condition today because of injuries he suffered during a single-vehicle crash in Hancock County‘s Allen Township.
Josiah Brose, of Fostoria, was taken by helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center after the crash, which was reported at 1:13 a.m. Lucina Brose, 38, of Fostoria, who was driving the car, was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for her injuries; her condition was not known.
Deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff‘s Office said Ms. Brose was driving westbound on St. Rt. 613, near County Road 140, when she lost control, went off the left side of the road where the car hit a tree and mailbox. The Ford Mustang then went over a drainage ditch, through a field, and then struck another tree, deputies said.
Deputies suspect alcohol played a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
