An East Toledo man accused of bludgeoning a man whose body has not been found was arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court.

Bond for Robert Strauss, 36, of 2140 Consaul St., who is charged with murder, was set at $1 million. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday.

Police allege that Mr. Strauss and his wife, Desirae Strauss, 36, killed Brian Martin, 52, of Ypsilanti, on June 22 inside the couple‘s residence.  The pair were arrested July 8 in Anderson, Ind. Desirae Strauss was arraigned Monday; she remains in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $1 million.

Police said various forms of forensic evidence implicated the couple. Mr. Martin‘s body has not been found, but police believe it is in a barn or shed-type of structure.

Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
