Bond was set at $200,000 Friday for a Toledo man charged with breaking into a woman’s downtown apartment and raping and robbing her.

Nicholas Drzayich, 41, of 513 Adams St. is charged with two counts of rape and one count each of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary for a May 6 incident in the 400 block of North St. Clair Street. Drzayich pleaded not guilty before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Michael Goulding, who set his case for trial Sept. 8.

J. Christopher Anderson, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor, said he obtained governor’s warrants this week to have Drzayich extradited promptly from Monroe County, in part because the 58-year-old victim in the case is battling cancer.
