WOODVILLE -- Authorities today charged a Woodville Township woman with one count of first-degree animal cruelty and four counts of second-degree misdemeanor animal cruelty after seizing horses from her property July 19.

Michelle Proch, 39, is scheduled to be arraigned in Sandusky County Court on Aug. 4.

Animal cruelty investigators from the Humane Society of Sandusky County investigated after an anonymous complaint in July of “skeletal” horses in a barn. The emaciated animals were found without adequate food or water. One of the horses had to be euthanized.
