Church catches fire in McComb

McCOMB, OHIO -- Firefighters from five area departments remained on the scene late Friday of a blaze at McComb United Methodist Church.

The fire was reported about 5:35 p.m., Hancock County sheriff‘‍s deputies said. 

The McComb Fire Department was joined by firefighters from Allen and Liberty townships and Findlay at the church on High Street in the Hancock County village about 10 miles northwest of Findlay.

There were no reports of injury. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage were not immediately reported.

The Western Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church sent out a tweet about 8:30 p.m.: “Please keep the congregation of McComb UMC in your prayers as we learn more about this fire.”
