ELMORE — A 14-year-old girl was killed in a crash on State Rt. 105 in Harris Township just after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Miranda Marie Cleveland, who was in the front seat, was thrown from the car when the driver, Austin Limpf, 18, of Curtice, Ohio, who was westbound on State Rt. 105, fell asleep at the wheel, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Mr. Limpf told them that when his car began to veer off the road to the right, he overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road.

The vehicle flipped over several times, and the girl was thrown from the car before it stopped, landing on its wheels. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Limpf was treated at ProMedica Bay Park Hospital for minor injuries.

Troopers are still investigating. They said alcohol did not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
