Toledo Police continue today to investigate a fatal crash in which witnesses reported that a Toledo woman was driving erratically just before the crash.

Lucas Gloyd, 31 of 6082 Colima Drive, was killed in the collision that occurred at about 11 p.m. Friday at the intersection of South Byrne Road and Schneider Road.

Witnesses say that a car driven by Heather Cooper, 39 of 502 Morrison Drive, was driving at a high rate of speed toward the intersection, when it drove through the stop sign and struck Mr. Gloyd's car, which was headed northbound on South Byrne.

Mrs. Cooper was treated for injuries at the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio.

Police say that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. No charges have been filed. The road was closed for more than four hours after the crash.
