Lucas County sheriff’s officials are looking for the person who ran a red minivan into an apartment complex in Holland and fled about 4 a.m. Friday.
Sgt. Richard Grove said the minvan was found abandoned a few blocks from the Oak Place Court Apartment Complex in Spencer Township. He said there were no signs that the driver was hurt in the crash, but there is damage to the building.
Sergeant Grove said officials from the Lucas County Metropolitan Housing Authority worked Friday afternoon to repair the structure.
Red Cross officials said they gave some food assistance to one family that was displaced from their apartment. The family did not return to the apartment and opted to go elsewhere until repairs were made, said spokesman Jessica Zercher.
She said six other families were initially ordered to evacuate their apartments but they eventually went back into their homes and did not need assistance.
