FINDLAY -- A Findlay flower shop was completely destroyed in an early morning fire that also damaged the siding of four nearby houses.

Sink's Flower Shop & Greenhouse, 404 2nd St. in Findlay, was lost in the blaze that also ruined a two-story office building behind it and damaged a greenhouse, said Findlay Fire Department Chief Thomas Lonyo.

The fire was reported at 4:23 a.m., and is under investigation by the fire and police departments, he said.

About 25 to 30 firefighters fought the fire, which was fully involved with flames coming through the roof when they arrived on scene. It took firefighters about an hour to get the blaze under control.

No one was hurt in the fire, and a cat and rabbit inside were able to escape without injury.

Chief Lonyo said it’s too early to know the cause of the fire or the cost of the damage.

Alpine Flower Gallery in Findlay, which is also owned by Charles Clapper, will handle flower orders for Sink’s.
