Man shot, killed in South Toledo

A man was killed early today in South Toledo, police said.

Dead is Abriel Ruiz, 34. Police, at 1:35 a.m., were called to South Hawley Street and Monterey Court for a person shot. When officers arrived, they found the victim was shot in the chest. The victim was taken by Toledo fire department paramedics to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, where he was later pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed. Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
