Officers responded about 1:30 p.m. to gunshots at Parker and Greenwood streets. The shooting occurred at a residence in the 1000 block of Greenwood Avenue.

Police found Terry Carpenter, 43, shot and on the ground. James Gordon, 41, was inside the house with a gunshot wound. Donnell Burton, 42, suffered a graze wound to the left shoulder.

All three were sitting on the porch when unknown gunmen appeared from behind the house and began firing, police said. There were no updates on their condition as of Monday evening.

“At this point, detectives are piecing it together. We’re looking for witnesses and if the public knows anything or has seen anything, it was in broad daylight here, so hopefully someone will come forward and help us identify the suspect,” Toledo Police Department spokesman Sgt. Kevan Toney said.

A man at the scene called out to emergency responders that he was shot. When medical crews arrived on scene, he walked to a nearby porch saying, “I’ve been shot before. I’ll be alright.”

The two shooting victims were taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center.

Neighbors said they heard between 15 and 20 gunshots.

The shots, neighbors said, could be heard starting from down the street.

Police searched the area and questioned witnesses. No suspects are in custody.
