Drug sale at Bowsher High School likely to prompt expulsion
12/14/2017A Bowsher High School student likely will be expelled after he sold a marijuana edible to at least one student while at school.
Toledo police are investigating the Dec. 7 incident in which a female student, 16, was seen on surveillance buying a “Fruity Pebble marijuana edible” from the male student, 17. She said she bought the drugs for $10, according to a police report.
TPS spokesman Patty Mazur said four students had possession of the edibles, and two became sick and sought medical care outside of school.
One student, also a 16-year-old girl, “appeared to be under the influence of drugs and [was] complaining of shortness of breath and a racing heartbeat,” the police report said. She said she bought the drugs in school but was “inconsistent” about who sold them to her and when she consumed them.
The two girls who admitted to buying the drugs in school were suspended for 10 days, Ms. Mazur said. The boy seen on video selling the drugs is going through the expulsion process.
