PORT CLINTON — A 17-year-old Oak Harbor boy was killed and two other teens were injured in a two-vehicle crash on an access road that leads into a wildlife area in Ottawa County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday on the access road entrance, which begins north of Darr-Hopfinger Road and Mulcahy Road in Bay Township.

One of the drivers, Ryliegh Myosky, 17, of Oak Harbor, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews and transported to Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home in Port Clinton, troopers said.

His passenger, Lavonne Silverwood, 16, of Oak Harbor, suffered minor injuries and was flown to ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital, according to the patrol.

They both had to be extricated from the vehicle, the patrol said.

The driver of the second car, Carl Sines, 16, of Oak Harbor, had minor injuries and was transported to Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, troopers said.

The conditions of the Silverwood and Sines youth were unknown Friday.

Both youths’ vehicles were traveling southbound, side-by-side on the Little Portage River Wildlife access road, a narrow roadway which was snow-covered.

The Sines youth’s vehicle slid off the right side of the road, while the Myosky boy’s car traveled a few feet further and slid off the left side of the road. The vehicle went into a creek and overturned, troopers said.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Troopers continue to investigate.
