Christopher Carden, 31, is charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, and four misdemeanor offenses of endangering children and two traffic citations.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Toledo police tried to pull over Mr. Carden’s vehicle after he ran a stop sign at Arcadia Avenue and Collingwood Boulevard, according to an affidavit filed in Toledo Municipal Court. Mr. Carden failed to stop and fled in the vehicle, court records show.

Mr. Carden is accused of violating multiple traffic laws — along with driving the vehicle without a valid license —  at a high rate of speed, court records show. He eventually drove off the road, stopped the vehicle, and fled on foot. He was later apprehended following a foot pursuit, according to documents.

Mr. Carden was booked in the Lucas County jail.

He appeared Wednesday in Toledo Municipal Court, where bond was set at $25,000 at no percent.
