Another component for the new Toledo Mud Hens downtown stadium was approved yesterday when Lucas County commissioners OK'd a contract for the installation of seats.

Commissioners approved a contract totaling about $842,000 with Hussey Seating of New Benwick, Maine.

James O'Neal, an assistant Lucas County administrator, told commissioners that the base price was about $50,000 less but

Others also will have a slight design change so that all seats are directed toward the playing field.

Mr. O'Neal said the company has installed seats in numerous outdoor sports facilities across the country.

Installation isn't expected until about November, after the stands and railings are in place.

The ballpark, which is in an area bounded by Washington, St. Clair, Monroe, and Huron streets, is scheduled to be ready for opening day of the 2002 season.
