PORT CLINTON — The public will be given a chance on Monday to voice opinions regarding a state proposal to allow fraternal organizations and veterans groups to keep charitable gambling proceeds.

State Rep. Chris Redfern (D., Catawba Island) scheduled the hearing for noon at the Port Clinton Moose Lodge, 1105 West Lakeshore Drive. Joining him will be state Rep. Derrick Seaver (D., Minster), who sponsored the legislation.

“Many people are upset about the regulations and bureaucracy they now face in trying to conduct charitable gambling,” Mr. Redfern, the House Democratic leader, said in a statement.
