Mary Ann Neopolitan, Monroe County Democratic chairman, discusses an 11 1/2-foot-tall puppet of Betsy DeVos, chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, outside Democratic headquarters in Monroe. Yesterday's stop was the first of the statewide visit for the puppet, intended to highlight Ms. Devos' use of a separate political action fund to promote particular types of conservative candidates. The DeVos family founded Amway in Grand Rapids, Mich., and is among the monetary engines behind the state GOP, Democraitc officials says.
