DETROIT Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will hold a campaign stop and a fundraiser in Detroit on June 16.

A spokeswoman for the Illinois senator made the announcement on Sunday.

The stop is part of Obama's two-week tour focusing on the economy that kicks off today with his speech in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Next week's visit will mark Obama's third campaign stop in Michigan in a little more than a month.

During a trip to Troy High School last week and during a May 14 visit, he talked about the economic distress many Michigan families are feeling and how he would address those issues.

Obama is concentrating on key battleground states now that he is the party's presumptive nominee. Rival Hillary Rodham Clinton threw her support to Obama Saturday.
