Colleagues elect Bates, Zmuda to leadership posts
12/25/2011Lucas County Common Pleas Judge James Bates has been elected the court's presiding judge by his colleagues for a one-year term.
The presiding judge handles all affidavits of disqualifications against a municipal court judge, assigns judges to serve temporarily in another division of the court, and holds an annual meeting of the judges.
Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda was elected the 2012 administrative judge for the general trial division. He will be responsible for the court's operation and for compliance with all rules set forth by the Ohio Supreme Court.
