LANSING — Michigan’s secretary of state says local elections officials will have access to online resources in addition to in-person training.

Ruth Johnson announced Friday that elections clerks can now take courses, watch video tutorials, and participate in online seminars from the Michigan Bureau of Elections. The online training tools will cover topics such as registering new voters, electronic poll-book processing, and issuing and tracking ballots for people serving in the military.

The state says that many people only work as clerks part-time and often have other regular day jobs. This will allow them to better fit elections training into their daily schedules.
