Ohio’s former attorney general renames law firm after scandal

Ex-Ohio attorney general rebrands his Cleveland firm after 6-month law license suspension

COLUMBUS — Former Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann is rebranding his Cleveland law firm after completing a six-month law license suspension sparked by the 2008 sexual harassment scandal that prompted his resignation from state office.

The one-time Democratic state senator from Youngstown said Tuesday that Dann, Doberdruk & Harshman has been renamed The Dann Law Firm. The foreclosure-focused firm simultaneously launched a new Web site.

Mr. Dann’s video message to prospective clients highlights his consumer advocacy and court victories as Ohio’s top lawyer. It omits reference to the high-profile political fall that tarnished Democrats across Ohio or to Mr. Dann’s guilty plea on ethics charges.

The firm’s renaming comes as fellow scandal-scarred politicians Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer of New York are pursuing political comebacks. Mr. Dann has been barred from seeking public office until 2017.
