The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to consider the appeal of a former University of Toledo administrator who was fired after writing a column that was critical of gay rights.

Crystal Dixon, ex-associate vice president for human resources, in 2008 sued UT; its president, Dr. Lloyd Jacobs, and William Logie, former vice president for human resources and campus safety, after she was fired for writing a column for the Toledo Free Press in which she said gay rights cannot be compared to civil rights because homosexuality is a choice and race is not. Her suit, which alleged violations of her constitutional rights, was dismissed in U.S. District Court and upheld last year by the U.S. Court of Appeals.
