Rossford voters have handily defeated city charter amendments that would have given pay raises to the city council members and mayor so they could remain in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.

With 100 percent of the vote counted, the proposed council pay raises were defeated 1,153 to 712. The mayoral pay raise lost by a vote of 1,070 to 788.
