Democrats nominate Brenda Hill for party‘s vacant seat on Lucas County Board of Elections

The executive committee of the Lucas County Democratic Party nominated Brenda Hill today for their party‘s vacant seat on the Lucas County Board of Elections.
Hill is the current treasurer of the county Democratic party and has been a teacher for 35 years.
The Republican Party yesterday nominated Kelly Bensman, 37, of Toledo, a hydrogeologist employed by an environmental consulting firm, and Ben Roberts, 45, of Maumee, a management consultant and previous director of elections, Wednesday. Both parties’ nominees will now go to Secretary of State John Husted for approval.
The vacancies came about after Mr. Husted‘s removal of three previous Board of Elections members on June 5 for neglect of duty and perpetuating a culture of dysfunction.
