ELMORE - A Michigan woman was killed yesterday when the sport-utility vehicle she was driving struck a tractor-trailer on the Ohio Turnpike and rolled across the median into the other lanes of traffic, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The 31-year-old woman, of Watervliet, Mich., was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not released last night pending notification of family.

The woman's three daughters, ages 11, 10, and 2, were treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Their names were not released.

Troopers said the woman was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound about 4 p.m. when she collided with a tractor pulling a triple trailer about six miles east of I-280. Her car went into the median and rolled several times before coming to rest on its top in the westbound lanes.

The children, who were passengers in the SUV, were using seat restraints.
