New England Patriots announce signing of cornerback Darrelle Revis
3/17/2014FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots have announced the signing of cornerback Darrelle Revis.
The team statement comes four days after the business manager for the three-time All-Pro tweeted that Revis had reached a contract agreement with the Patriots. The team did not announce details of the contract, reportedly for one year and $12 million.
Revis was released last Tuesday by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before he was due a $1.5 million signing bonus after his only season with them. He had been traded after spending his first six seasons with the New York Jets.
The Patriots have signed another free agent cornerback, Brandon Browner. He spent the past three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
