Heat signs former Cavalier Deng to 2-year deal
7/14/2014MIAMI — Free agent forward Luol Deng agreed Sunday to a $20 million, two-year deal with the Miami Heat, said Herb Rudoy, one of Deng's agents.
The deal includes a player option for the 2015-16 season, Rudoy said.
Deng is entering his 11th NBA season, having spent almost his entire career with the Chicago Bulls. He appeared in 40 games with the Cavaliers after a trade last season.
Deng has averaged 16.0 points per game in his career, after being chosen No. 7 overall from Duke in the 2004 draft.
Carmelo sticks with Knicks
NEW YORK — Carmelo Anthony is remaining with the Knicks, saying he wants "to stay and build here with this city and my team."
Anthony made his decision official Sunday with a posting on his Web site. He writes: "In the end, I am a New York Knick at heart."
The Knicks can pay the All-Star forward they acquired in February, 2011, nearly $130 million over five years.
Lakers trade for Jeremy Lin
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Jeremy Lin joined the Lakers in a trade with the Houston Rockets, who also gave up first and second-round draft picks in 2015 for the rights to European center Sergei Lishchuk.
Lin averaged 12.5 points and 4.1 assists last season, but he lost his starting job because coach Kevin McHale preferred Patrick Beverley's defensive play.
