BROOKLYN, Mich. — Johnny Sauter earned his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win of 2014, taking the checkered flag in the Careers for Veterans 200 today at Michigan International Speedway.

In a race that took less than 90 minutes and had only one caution, Sauter passed Matt Crafton with less than four laps left to take over the lead of the 100-lap race, then created a lead of at least half a second.

Sauter finished ahead of Crafton and Ron Hornaday, Jr. With the win, Sauter takes over the Camping World Trucks Series driver points lead from Ryan Blaney, who won the pole for today's Camping World Trucks race. Blaney finished 21st, nine laps back.

Blaney won the pole almost by default - was the only driver to take the final qualifying lap.

The final 12 drivers in knockout qualifying waited through almost the entire course of the 10-minute session before taking off.

Only Blaney registered a lap, finishing in 41.582 seconds, with a lap speed of 173.162 miles an hour - more than 14 miles an hour less than Joey Logano, who had the top qualifying speed of 187.647.
