■ Saturday’s game: The Mud Hens snapped a four-game losing streak with a 7-4 offensive outburst at Fifth Third Field Saturday. Toledo got home runs from Edwin Espinal and Jarrod Saltalamacchia, and five of their nine hits went for extra bases in the victory.
■ Promotions: It will be Team Autograph Day, with the team signing autographs on the Fifth Third Field concourse starting at 4:15 p.m. ... There also will be an inflatable theme park for children on St. Clair Street behind the right-field fence. ... Children also will be invited to run the bases after the contest, and there will be post-game fireworks.
■ Transactions: The Tigers announced that left-hander Francisco Liriano will make a rehab start for the Mud Hens Sunday. ... Pitcher Artie Lewicki, who was optioned to Toledo by Detroit to make room on the roster for Justin Zimmermann, joined the team at Fifth Third Field Saturday. ... Lefty Josh Turley opted to retire after his start for Toledo Friday.
■ Weather: While the forecast calls for some cloudiness Sunday, there is no rain in the forecast. And the temperatures during the day will be in the mid-90s before “cooling off” into the high 80s in the early evening.
■ Notes: Toledo has a 20-11 record in games decided by one or two runs, the best mark in the International League. ... While the Mud Hens are 36-0 in games where they take a lead into the ninth inning, they have yet to come back and win a game in the 25 contests where they trailed entering the ninth. ... Detroit’s Liriano, who is expected to make a rehab start for the Hens today, would become the 19th pitcher to start a contest for Toledo this season. That would tie Gwinnett for the most for an IL team in 2018.
