Welcome Home

8/21/2003

The Home Builders Association of Greater Toledo had an exciting summer. With two parades of homes completed, and our fall parade fast approaching, we end the summer with a great addition to the association, our new Executive Vice President, Tony Plath.

As a member of the HBA of Greater Toledo, former HBA Board Member and the Past-President of the association's Apartment Council, Mr. Plath has first-hand experience working with our member-driven association. Tony brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and a contagious enthusiasm to this position. With an extensive, twenty-four year background in real estate and owner/broker of his own firm, he has been successful in a variety of arenas. These experiences not only benefited him in his personal growth, but also will enhance the continued growth of the HBA of Greater Toledo.

The votes have been tallied for the People's Choice Award for Best Home, as well as Best Decorated Home, during the 2003 HBA Sky Bank Spring Parade of Homes held June 14-29 at Hull Prairie Meadows. We are pleased to announce that Tim Earnest, Claystone Custom Homes, Inc., was selected as the People's Choice Award recipient for the best home. The award for best decor goes to Doug Nostrant, Westwind Homes. Special recognition will be given to these members at the Sales & Marketing Council SAM Awards Program on March 26, 2004.

The HBA has recently completed a very successful Scattered Site Parade of Homes sponsored by Modern Builders Supply with additional sponsors of Charter One Bank, The Andersons, The Blade and Buckeye CableSystem. This unique-style parade offers the community a variety of homes to choose from and tour at their leisure.

And finally, fast-approaching is the 2003 HBA Sky Bank Fall Parade of Homes to be held October 4-19. This seven-home parade will be held at Legacy Estates in Temperance, Michigan. This particular location mimics nature at its best including rolling hills and featuring beautiful mature trees.

The Home Builders Association of Greater Toledo is an association of builders and people who provide services for the building industry. It is composed of 600 member companies who believe that home ownership should be within the reach of every American family.
