The city of Sylvania is likely to gain 6.3 acres in August.

City council is expected to approve the annexation of property from Sylvania Township to the city on Arbor Way between Whiteford Road and Silvertown Drive at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 19. Lucas County commissioners in May approved the annexation. If council approves it, residents would receive police and trash services immediately.

The installation of sewers, the main reason residents sought the annexation, is still in planning, Joe Shaw, deputy director of public service, said.
