The Sylvania Township Zoning Commission unanimously recommended for approval a new home development on McCord Road.

The panel advised changing the zoning from single family to a planned unit development for the 1.4-acre parcel between Central and Sylvania avenues. The township board is expected to vote on the change next month.

The proposal calls for four duplexes. Mike White of Buckeye Real Estate Group said he plans to build the units and sell them for $170,000 to $190,000.

One resident objected, saying the site is too small. The resident presented 29 signed statements from neighbors opposed to the project.
