Filings to contest value of property due Monday

Lucas County homeowners who wish to challenge their property values as listed by the auditor’s office must have their paperwork filed with the county by Monday.

Property values can be found online at the Auditor’s Real Estate Information System, or AREIS, at www.co.lucas.oh.us, or by calling the auditor’s real estate division at 419-213-4406.

Those who contest their values will go before the board of revision, a joint panel of representatives from the auditor’s, treasurer’s, and commissioners’ offices. The board reviews complaints and rules on whether to adjust a property value.

The Auditor’s Office, located in One Government Center, will stay open Monday until 6 p.m. to serve landowners who submit paperwork in person. Notarized forms may be mailed to the office, but must be postmarked by March 31
