Toledo law firm Spengler Nathanson PLL has purchased a three-story office building at 900 Adams St. in downtown Toledo.

Sarah Skow, a partner with the firm, said contractors will be in the building on Monday to start renovations for the eventual location of the firm's lawyers who now work on the fourth floor of Four SeaGate.

According to the Lucas County auditor’s records, the building was purchased Thursday for $655,000.

The 26,000-square-foot building across Adams from the Main Library of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library formerly was the longtime law offices for Cooper & Kowalski, which disbanded in 2014 after nearly 45 years of providing legal service.

Some of the law firm's attorneys, including Ms. Skow, Gerald Kowalski, and John Czarnecki, joined Spengler Nathanson.

Byron Choka, Spengler Nathanson’s managing partner, said the building will allow the law firm to continue its long history of collaborative and innovative service to clients.

"This acquisition solidifies the firm's commitment to downtown Toledo and contributes a positive economic impact to the core of downtown Toledo," Mr. Choka said in a news release.

Spengler Nathanson, which opened in 1947, has a satellite office at Mayberry Square in Sylvania.
