Representatives of the 188 congregations in the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the ELCA will elect members of the synod council and also vote on a resolution to close Toledo's Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The assembly will begin with a worship service at 4 p.m. Thursday in Kobacker Hall and will be open to the public.

Plenary sessions are scheduled for Thursday evening, Friday, and Saturday.

Special guests will include Dr. Craig Nessan, a professor at Wartburg Seminary; the Rev. Lowell Almen, secretary of the ELCA, and musician Jay Beech.
