Catholic Chronicle revamps its business structure

3/12/2005

The Catholic Chronicle, the official newspaper of the Toledo diocese, is dissolving as a corporation and becoming a part of the diocese's department of communications. The change is part of a streamlining process recommended by a consultant in 2003, according to Sally Oberski, director of communications.

The biweekly, whose publisher is Bishop Leonard Blair, will no longer have a separate board of trustees but its publication schedule and editorial content will not be affected by the changes, according to Christine Raizk Alexander, editor and general manager.

The Chronicle, which celebrated its 70th anniversary last year, has a circulation of about 40,000. It moved its offices from Sylvania to the downtown Catholic Center in the fall of 2002.
