GLOBAL GIFTS

Cherie Pingle helps load gift-filled shoe boxes at WLMB-TV (Channel 40) headquarters in Perrysburg. Thousands of boxes are being collected locally at the station and other regional centers for Operation Christmas Child, a project that sends the boxes, filled with toys, school supplies, and more, to underprivileged children around the world. Last year, over 7.4 million gift-filled shoe boxes were given to children in 90 nations.

The annual campaign is an outreach of Samaritan s Purse, the Charlotte, N.C., ministry headed by the Rev. Franklin Graham.
